Having come from a background of painting and sculpture, ten years ago I began experimenting with video. As a result, my exploration of video as a medium led me in two distinct areas. Initially approaching video in a painterly manner, I developed a series of what I call filmic paintings. These video works exist in absence of any audio component. As with traditional paintings, they are about something silent and visual; displayed on framed plasma and lcd monitors as paintings. Some are presented as an installation and are projected on the wall or an object. They are a look at the liquid fluidity of painting through moving, morphing images. These works have spawn numerous print work as well.
